Fourth Mongolian admitted to US Military Academy

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The US Ambassador to Mongolia Ms Piper Anne Wind Campbell presented Tuesday to M. Ariunbold with his United States Military Academy Admissions Acceptance Certificate for the class of 2019.

The news was published on Thursday on the website of the US Embassy in Mongolia.

M.Ariunbold will be one of 60 non-U.S. cadets at the Academy, and is the fourth Mongolian to be admitted to West Point.

The U.S. Embassy in Mongolia announces the application process to the United States Military Academy annually every November for the class entering the following year. In general, USMA graduates have become respected scholars, military officers, and leaders across the world. Currently, there are three Mongolian cadets studying at USMA. Each Mongolian graduate is required to serve a minimum of five years in the Mongolian Armed Forces for the benefit of the nation.

Each year USMA offers admission to a number of foreign cadet candidates in order to maintain a foreign cadet population of 60. Currently, USMA has 60 foreign cadets from 32 different countries.  This year, 81 applicants from 30 countries competed for admission.
