Center of Russian Culture and Sciences turns 40
Art & CultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Director of the Ulaanbaatar city-based Center of Russian Culture and Sciences Ye.G.Mikhailov gave a report about 40th anniversary of the center marked on Friday.
He emphasized that UB-based Center of Russian Culture and Sciences is the largest one in Asia-Pacific region among the same institutions around the world.
"As Russia and Mongolia have the broad ties in sciences, culture and education, this center prepares students to study in Russian universities and institutes with scholarships. Actually, those students graduated from secondary schools taught in Russian language have more advantage because of language skills," Mikhailov said.
This year, 376 Mongolian students were qualified to study in Russia with the governmental scholarships. Moreover, 40 students who won medals in Russian language Olympiad will study in Russia with the scholarships, he said.
In frames of the jubilee, a photo exhibition named “Through the way of friendship and cooperation” has opened.
