Commemorative Coin Issued for the Year of the RabbitEconomy
Ulaanbaatar, February 15, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The Treasury Department of the Bank of Mongolia has issued a commemorative silver coin, “Year of the Rabbit,” welcoming the Rabbit Year of Water.
The Treasury Fund launched the “12 Zodiac Signs” commemorative coin series in 2020 with the “Year of the Rat” commemorative silver coin, followed by the “Year of the Ox” in 2021 and the “Year of the Tiger” in 2022.
This series is distinctive because it was created using the traditional drawing technique and zodiac signs represented in traditional Mongolian astrology. It is minted in a way that allows it to stand freely on its own, which makes it an ideal display and conversion piece. The commemorative coins are made using Smartminting technology.
The “Year of the Rabbit” commemorative silver coin is the fourth of this series.

is valued at MNT 10,000 and weighs 31.1 grams. The golden coin of 11 mm diameter is valued at MNT 200,000 and weighs 0.5 grams.
Lately, commemorative coins have been produced in many forms along with technical and technological development, one of which is the gold-plated banknotes. The commemorative banknote with innovative design is made of pure silver and printed in color on both sides.
