Mongolians Win Two Gold Medals at the Memoriad 2024 World Mental Sports Olympics
SportsUlaanbaatar, November 8, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The quadrennial Memoriad 2024 - The World Mental Sports Olympics kicked off in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on November 7, 2024.
The tournament features more than 180 athletes from 35 countries competing in 12 categories across junior and adult divisions. Mongolia sent a team of 20 participants and the team has won five medals in two events so far. Notably, Mongolia secured gold medals in the “Speed Cards” category in both the junior and adult divisions. In the adult category, Grandmaster Munkhshur Narmandakh completed her task with a time of 19.47 seconds and won a gold medal, making the National Anthem of Mongolia resonate on the world stage. In the junior category, Irmuun Oyunbolor secured a gold medal with a time of 37.8 seconds.
Additionally, in the adult category, Oyungerel Tsengelbayar and Nomin-Erdene Tsengelbayar earned silver and bronze medals with times of 20.62 and 22.05 seconds, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the second event of the World Mental Sports Olympics, “Mental Multiplications,” which involved calculating the product of two 8-digit numbers, Kh. Anrilan won the silver medal by correctly solving all ten problems within six minutes.
