Mongolian Student in Moscow Khairat Makes Debut Performance

Khairat, the recipient of the “President’s Scholar-2100,” a scholarship program initiated by President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to study at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow, Russia, has made his debut performance. M. Khairat is in his second year of studying opera singing at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music under the guidance of Professor Timofey Yerievich Kryukov. He had previously studied in the Department of Vocal Arts at the Mongolian State Conservatory. M. Khairat starred in his first opera role as Antonio in “The Marriage of Figaro,” a comic opera composed in 1786 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian writer Lorenzo Da Ponte and based on Pierre Beaumarchais’ 1784 novel “La folle journée, ou le Mariage de Figaro.” On December 23, 2024, the opera was staged at the Gnesin Moscow Academy of Music Opera Theatre by the arrangement of Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation Yuriy Arkadievich Speransky. Notably, on December 15, 2024, M. Khairat was awarded the title of “Best Singer” in the “Russian Composer’s Aria” category at the 8th International Competition of Classical and Folk Music organized by the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Fund. The Competition was held in honor of the legendary 20th-century opera singer and People’s Artist of the USSR Elena Obraztsova.
