65 km new paved road opens for traffic
Construction of 65 km paved road out of total 95 km road in an intersection of the Dulaankhaan-Eruu-Khuder was completed and put into operation on June 23. Minister of Road and Transport Development D.Ganbat, MP N.Oyundari, and Director of the Darkhan Metallurgical Plant D.Batjavkhlan attended the opening ceremony.

‘Made in Ulaanbaatar’ sub-program to boost processing industry in UB
The Citizens Representative Meeting of the capital city recently approved a sub-program ‘Made in Ulaanbaatar’ to boost processing industry in the capital.  63.9 per cent of all companies in Mongolia operates in Ulaanbaatar. The sub-program aims to support producers through cluster, investment and proper policy, to improve competitiveness of production and services, to create jobs through promoting and increasing sales of products with label ‘Made in Ulaanbaatar’.

Incentive of MNT12.7 billion to be distributed
Incentive for animal skins and hides are being distributed to herders starting June 22. Herders, who sold animal skins and hides to national processing factories, are eligible to get the incentive. 64255 herders sold 278.185 hides and 2.846.747 skins, a total of 3.1 million pieces to national factories and they will get incentive of MNT12.7 billion in total.

Businesswomen’s incubator center opens
On June 23,  Businesswomen’s incubator center" was officially opened under the Businesswomen’s center with a support of the Korean International Cooperation Agency, the Asian Foundation and the Governor’s Office of the capital. The center has trained over 4000 businesswomen for a short period of time since its start of activities.  The businesswomen appreciated the incubator center for access of frequent consultation, information and other support, bringing noticeable results to their businesses.

"Suu" JSC bond available for trade on MSE
Based on the CEO Order No.A/108 of the Mongolian Stock Exchange of June 19, 2017 and FRC Resolution No.129 of June 22, 2017, the debt instruments offered by the “Suu” JSC to public has been registered at the Mongolian Stock Exchange and approved for trading.

Unemployed rate decreased to 9.1 percent
The unemployment rate of Mongolia reached an all time high of 11.6 percent in the first quarter of 2016 with 143 thousand unemployed people.  Within the framework of the Government’s policies on improving livelihoods and restoring the economy through creation of jobs, multiple job creating projects and programs have been implemented. As a result, the unemployed rate has reduced down to 9.1 percent with 115 thousand unemployed people in the first quarter of 2017.

Construction of UB - Mandalgobi electric line and sub-station starts
Construction of electric line between Ulaanbaatar and Mandalgobi and its sub-station, which targets to export electricity to China, started as the project launching ceremony took place this week. The project will be financed within general loan agreement of USD1 billion between Government of Mongolia and Export-Import Bank of the People’s Republic of China, established on November 10, 2015. TBEA Group of China will construct the line and sub-station as it won the bid.

Some imported railroad equipment being produced at home
Railroad maintenance engineers and technicians are producing some equipment and devices domestically that would replace foreign import. These include cleaning machine of snow, sand and weeds on railroads and electronic test equipment and the newly invented devices proved to be very efficient in increasing work productivity and saving time as well as economical.

Prime Minister invites investors as positive economic outlook seen for Mongolian economy
The second annual summit of the Business Council of Mongolia is being held on June 19-20. Under the theme “Regional Connectivity in Asia”, the main topics of infrastructure, power, mining, environmental awareness and other potential projects are being discussed. PM J.Erdenebat opened the summit with a speech and said “Foreign trade turnover of Mongolia steadily increased to USD 8.3 billion in 2016, while reached USD 4 billion in the first quarter of this year. Around 80 percent of the total exports consists of mining products. The Government is aiming to create multi-pillared economy by diversifying export products and manufacturing final products from the agricultural raw materials”.

Central bank policy rate lowered to 12 percent
The Bank of Mongolia’s Monetary Policy Committee held a meeting today on June 15 and lowered the policy interest rate down to 12 percent. Previously, the interest rate was set at 14 percent by the committee’s decision on March.

Auction for land licenses announced
The Land Management Department of the capital city announced an open auction for licenses of land possession and use. Land licenses for purposes of establishing house and apartment town, recreation place and tourist spot as well as trade center in 15 sites of Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, Khan-Uul and Songino-Khairhan districts will be on auction.
