Mongolian wrestlers competing in Paris

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Organized by the United World Wrestling, the Paris 2017 World Wrestling Championship is taking place between August 21 and 27.

The tournament started with Women’s Freestyle championship and four Mongolian athletes are participating in the 55kg, 58kg, 63kg and 75kg categories.

More specifically, E.Davaachimeg, gold and bronze medalist in the World Championship, participating in 55kg and matched up against Ukrainian athlete Tetyana Kit, silver medalist in the continential championship.

In the 58kg, World Youth Champion IM A.Battsetseg will be competing against Kazakhstan’s Gulshakharat Talassova in the first round. Also, numerous strong opponents, namely Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova, Tunisian Marvi Armi and Japan’s Katsuki Sakagami have been matched in the same zone. IM P.Orkhon will be competing against Indian Shippi Sheran in the first match of 63kg category. If she wins the match, the next opponent will be from either Sweden or Republic of Korea.

As for the 75 kg, IM G.Urtnasan will be up against Charlin Madison Dominguez in the first round. Within her zone, world’s best wrestlers, such as world championship medalist Russian Alena Perelelkina.

Tomorrow, on August 24, State Honored Athlete D.Otgontsetseg, O.Nasanburmaa, IM E.Narangerel and B.Shoovdor will participate. As for the male athletes, the competition is scheduled on August 25-26, where Merited Athlete E.Bekhbayar, IM T.Tuvshintulga, O.Uitumen, N.Zolboo, N.Lkhabgarmaa, D.Gombodorj and U.Batzul will participate.
