Khuvsgul lake ice festival to welcome tourists in March

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ice festival ‘Blue Pearl -2018’ will be organized on the frozen Khuvsul Lake year on March 2-3.
 
The festival is aimed at developing winter tourism in Mongolia, expanding tourism season, preserving beautiful natural landscapes of Khuvsgul Lake. Besides, it will promote eco-friendly and responsible tourism.
 
To take place for the 19th time, the festival is expected to increase opportunity for Khuvsgul locals to make income in winter time. In 2017, the ice festival gathered over 10 thousand tourists.
 
At the festival, visitors are able to travel through ice towns, shoot ice anklebones and ride horse sledge as well as to visit fair of hand made products by local people.
