Mongolian throat singer E.Baatarjav gets 2nd place in International Throat Singing Competition

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Co-organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Khakassia,  the “Khai Mori” International Competition for Professional Throat Singers took place at Abakan city. Throat singers of 9 nations, such as Tuva, Kalmykia, Buryat and Mongolia, tested their skills at the competition.

A gala concert was performed at the end of the competition, that took place for 2 days. While a Tuvan throat singer named Romanov won the 1st place, Mongolian throat singer, epic-teller E.Baatarjav took 2nd place, receiving the silver medal.


He not only participated in all 6 divisions of throat singing, but also promoted the Altai harp and fife.

A press conference was also held at the city, in which the organizers, Vyacheslav Inkizekov, Artur Marluzov (Khakassian) and representatives of Yakuts, Bashkartostan, Kalmykia and China shared their experiences.
