August expected to be warmer than average

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Agency of Meteorology and Environment Monitoring has reported that temperature is expected to be 0.5-1.5 degrees Celsius warmer than average in most parts of the country in August.


As for the mountainous area of Khuvsgul, temperature is expected to be average. Above average rainfall is expected in the eastern part of Uvs aimag, in the northern part of Zavkhan aimag, and in most parts of central and eastern aimags, while an average amount of rainfall is expected in southern parts of Arkhangai and Uvurkhangai aimags, and in aimags in the Gobi region.

 

Thunderstorms are expected in some parts of western aimags on August 2, in the eastern region of western aimags and in some parts of central and Gobi aimags on August 3. Rain is also expected in most parts of central and Gobi aimags, and in some parts of eastern aimags on August 4, and in the eastern region of the country on August 5.

 

In mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul and Khentei, in the basins of Terelj river, the night-time temperature will range from +6 to +11 degrees Celsius, and the daytime temperature will be +19 to +24.

 

In the Gobi region, in the banks of Orkhon - Selenge, and in prairie areas of Dornod and Dariganga, the temperature will be +16 to +21 during the night, and +30 to +35 during the day.

 

In other areas, the night-time temperature will be +11 to +16 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be +25 to +30 degrees Celsius.
