Snow on the way for most parts of the country
WeatherUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Agency for Meteorology and Environment has issued a warning for snowfall in the country’s western region on January 21 and 22, in most parts of the country on January 23, and in the eastern region on January 24.
Snowfall and strong winds are expected in most parts of western aimags and western and northern parts of central aimags on January 22, in eastern parts of western aimags, northern parts of the Gobi region, and in most parts of central and eastern region on January 23, in eastern parts of central aimags and in most parts of eastern aimags on January 24, and in eastern parts of eastern aimags on January 25.
Wind speed will reach 12-14 m/sec in some parts of the country on January 22 and 23.
With a slight drop in temperature throughout the country from January 22, in the depression of Uvs Lake and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan River, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basins of Ider, Tes, and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will range from -30 to -35 degrees Celsius during the night, and -18 to -23 during the day.
In the depression of the Great Lakes, in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, and in the basins of Eg, Uur, Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, and Ulz rivers, the temperature will range between -24 and -29 degrees Celsius during the night, and -12 to -17 during the day.
In the southern Gobi region and areas with less snow, the night-time temperature will be -14 to -19 degrees Celsius, and the daytime temperature will be -2 to -7 degrees Celsius.
In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -19 to -24 during the night, and -8 to -13 during the day.
