Cold to ease in most parts of the country this week

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The weather is expected to stay consistent, with the cold slightly easing in most parts of the country in recent days.
Snow is expected in the northern parts of western and central aimags on January 5, and in some parts of the eastern region on January 6. Wind speed will reach 12-14 m/sec during the period.
In the depression of Lake Uvs and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan river, in the basins of Ider and Tes rivers, the temperature will range from -31 to -35 degrees Celsius during the night, and -20 to -25 during the day.
In mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul and Khentei, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basins of Eg-Uur, Orkhon-Selenge, Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon. Ulz and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will be -26 to -31 during the night, and -13 to -18 during the day.
In the southern Gobi region, the temperature will be -13 to -18 during the night, and 0 to -5 during the day.
In other areas, the night-time temperature will be -18 to -23 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be -8 to -13 degrees Celsius. A slight temperature drop is expected throughout the country on January 6.
