Mongolia’s population grows by 80251 newborn children in 2019

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. According to the preliminary result, the population of Mongolia reached 3.3 million persons at the end of 2019 and growth of 63.1 thousand persons (1.9%) observed from the previous year.

 

The crude birth rate and crude death rate per 1000 persons were 24.3 and 5.2 respectively, and

natural increase rate per 1000 population was 19.1. Compared with the previous year, crude birth rate per 1000 persons was decreased by 0.1 points and crude death rate per 1000 persons by 0.2 points.

 

In 2019, there were 80251 new born children (births) at the national level, of which 78223 children (births) (97.5%) were born in Mongolia and 2028 children (births) (2.5%) were born abroad.

 

Crude birth rate per 1000 persons in Ulaanbaatar city and Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd and Orkhon provinces were 0.2-3.5 points higher than the national average and crude birth rate per 1000 persons in other provinces were 0.1-12.9 points lower than the national average.

 

Whereas, there were 17195 deaths at the national level, of which 17123 deaths (99.6%) were born in Mongolia and 72 deaths (0.4%) were in abroad. Crude death rates per 1000 persons in Ulaanbaatar city and Khuvsgul, Dornogovi, Sukhbaatar, Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Dundgovi and Dornod provinces were 0.1-0.6 point higher than the national average and crude death rate per 1000 persons in Bayan-Ulgii province were equal to the national average. Whereas, crude death rates per 1000 persons in other provinces were 0.1-2.0 points lower than the national average.

 

The natural increase rates per 1000 persons in Ulaanbaatar city and Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd, Govisumber and Orkhon provinces were 0.6-3.5 points higher than the national average and natural increase rate per 1000 persons in Umnugovi province was equal to the national average. Whereas, natural increase rates per 1000 persons in other provinces were 1.0-12.6

points lower than the national average.
