Some issues on explosive substances and blasting equipment clarified

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On January 30, Parliament made some amendments to the Law on controlling turnover of explosives and blasting tools.
An evaluation made in the law implementation concluded that there is an uncertainty over legal requirements for the license holding companies and some other regulations regarding the rights and responsibilities of authorities concerning the production and imports of explosive substances and blasting tools.
Therefore, a necessity has arisen to make clear of these issues, prompting the government to submit the bill to the Parliament in December 2019.
There are 64 entities in Mongolia holding special licenses allowed to perform blasting services for industrial purposes and to import, supply and sell explosives and blasting tools.
Following the mining industry growth, production and imports of such tools and items are expected to grow.
