Two more deer relocated to Bogd Khan Mountain
EnvironmentUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Two red deer have been relocated from Khustain Nuruu National Park (NP) to the strictly protected Bogd Khan
Mountain in addition to the 10 red deer relocated to the strictly protected
mountain earlier this month.
According to the Khustai NP administration, preparations
are underway to relocate 12 more deer to the Bogd Khan Mountain to improve
the species' genetic diversity. Specifically, experts are monitoring them to relocate more deer to state protected areas not only in the central region, but western, eastern, and northern parts of the country if
the relocation project turns out to be a success.
Khustai NP is currently home to around 1,300 deer.
