Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh Meets with Female Foreign Ministers
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, February 20, 2024 /MONTSAME/. During the 60th Munich Security Conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs Battsetseg Batmunkh met with female foreign ministers of some countries on February 17, 2024.
The meeting, which is traditionally organized during the meetings of the United Nations and other international organizations, was attended by female foreign ministers from 10 countries, where they exchanged views on issues such as international governance, armed conflicts, climate change, trade, and ways to overcome international and regional challenges. At the meeting, Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh informed the attendees about the World Women's Forum planned to be organized in Ulaanbaatar in August 2024, upon the initiative of the President of Mongolia, and urged the ministers to actively participate.
In addition, at the initiative of the
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, it was decided to create a "Network
of Women Foreign Ministers" to work on regular contacts and activate
cooperation. At this meeting of women foreign ministers, the ministers
exchanged views specifically on the issue of protecting the rights of women and
children in Afghanistan, and issued a Joint Statement based on the results of
the meeting.
