It was reported during today's press briefing of the Ministry of Health that 1792 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Mongolia after 11720 tests performed in the past 24 hours.

High workload of investigators negatively affects fight against corruption
One of the key anti-corruption activities is to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Corruption offenses are often committed by high-level executives at the decision-making level, and the failure to impose appropriate penalties on the perpetrators undermines public confidence in the government, and citizens start feeling that the law is not exercised impartially. Thus, increasing the level of corruption and negatively affects society as a whole.

1,816 lives saved in the first five months
As of the first five months of 2021, 1,782 disastrous occurrences have been recorded. As a result, 370 people died, 357 injured and 153,365 livestock died and caused loss of MNT 9.9 million, according to National Emergency Management Office (NEMA).

Candidates in Mongolia’s presidential election could campaign freely, int'l observers say
Mongolia’s presidential election was well run in difficult circumstances and candidates were able to reach out freely to voters, but overly restrictive candidate eligibility and the blurred line between journalism and political advertising as well as the absence of public debate limited the range of choices and information for voters, international observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) said in a statement on June 10.

At the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health today on June 8, it was reported that 1,267 new cases were detected in Mongolia after testing 9,631 people nationwide within the past 24 hours. More specifically, 962 new cases were detected in the capital city, with 305 cases in rural regions.
