Over 160 legal scholars attend national forum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ By the initiative of the Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, the first National Forum of Legal Scholars took place on May 23, Tuesday, assembling more than 160 legal scholars with the oldest participant being 88 and the youngest 29.

Considered to be important in solidifying the scientific foundations for Mongolian legislature, the forum was attended by honored guests such as Prime Minister J.Erdenebat, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs S.Byambatsogt, Secretary General of Parliamentary Office Ts.Tsolmon and representatives of public institutions and scholars.

The forum primarily aimed to address the implementation of objectives on developing legal and scientific spheres, reflected in the 2016-2020 action plan of the Cabinet, according to Justice Minister S.Byambatsogt who gave an opening speech.

Since the development of legal science in the 1960s, there are 185 legal scholars in Mongolia. The action plan of the Cabinet specifically reflects the advancement of legal science.

The participants noted that the forum was indeed a constructive event where legal scholars were able to discuss their problems, seek solutions and present ideas effectively.
