Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/  June 1, Children’s Day is observed as a public holiday in Mongolia, with celebrations taking place not only on every household level, but also through a number of public events organized on the central square and other entertainment centers.
 
After May 20, a car free day that coincided with the annual international Ulaanbaatar Marathon event, Ulaanbaatar residents called for another car-free day on June 1 through social networking sites.
 
As such, Traffic Police informed that traffic will be suspended on the east and west sides of the central square from 10 AM to 4 PM on June 1 for safety.
 
On this day, a number of cultural events and entertainment activities including more than 3000 traditional games will be waiting for children and families on the central square.
 
More than 280 traffic officers will be working to ensure safety of traffic on Children’s Day, reported the Traffic Police.
