Capacity building project for soum cooperatives undergoing

The project will be jointly implemented until 2019 by the Czech international non-governmental organization 'People in Need', Mongolian Cooperative Training and Information center, Mongolian Women Lawyers Association and Knowledge Network (Medlegiin Suljee) NGO. Currently they are working to empower 200 members of 22 cooperatives in five soums.
By assessing the development of cooperatives it showed that they are lacking governance, management capacity, members participation, cooperation between cooperatives, financial capacity, technology supply and business marketing. Therefore, based on the issues trainings on good governance, cooperative management, use of basic computerand financial programs, felt and handicraft technology are being conducted. Also, they are working on business plans of 30 cooperatives.
Further numerous works are planned including to introduce with national processing factories, organize a business tour with purpose of studying activities of cooperatives in Inner Mongolia's Xilingol aimag, learn from experiences of Mongolia's leading cooperative and organizing trainings on vegetable planting and technology of building root cellar.
