A national consultation of farmers ‘Sustainable Development of Land Farming’ took place on April 4 in the State House. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Light Industry B.Batzorig attended the consultation.

Land farming sector has direct dependence on nature and weather. Due to climate change frequency of early ground frost, draughts and overheat is increasing at recent years and it brings difficulties to run farming operation profitable and environmentally friendly. Hence, the Government will focus attention on developing science-based farming industry, stated the Prime Minister in his opening remarks.

In 2019, Mongolia will mark the 60th anniversary of bringing virgin lands under cultivation and development of independent agriculture. The Cabinet approved a resolution to run ‘Virgin Land-60’ campaign ahead of the historic anniversary, PM noted.

During the consultation mid-term programs ‘Vegetable’ and ‘Fruit’ which have great significance to ensure sustainable development of land farming were launched.
