Needle Case

Uvs /MONTSAME/ This needle case is one of the
exhibits kept at the Musuem of Uvs aimag. Inside the handmade
copper case, a small piece of wood secured with a copper band is placed for
holding needle. The lid is inlaid with a red plastic ornament and there are metal
rings attached at the both ends of the case.
In 1972, museum staff
T.Byambadorj bought the exhibit that was used by a nomadic Mongolian woman from
a teacher of Sagil soum of Uvs aimag S.Ganjav, to add it to the museum’s
collection. The needle case is 7 cm long, 1 cm thick, and 1.5 cm wide.
