Minister of Foreign Affairs Pays Courtesy Call on Vice President of Turkey

Ulaanbaatar, March 16, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the Official Visit,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms. Battsetseg paid a courtesy call on Vice
President of Turkey Mr. Fuat Oktay.
At the beginning of the meeting, while handing over the message
from President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to President of Turkey Recep
Tayyip Erdoğan, the Minister Ms. Battsetseg said, “I would like to offer my
deepest condolence again over the tragic loss and injuries caused by the
devastating earthquake in the southeastern provinces of the Republic of Turkey
and reaffirm that we, Mongolians, stand in full solidarity with the people of
Turkey.”
For his side, Vice President of Turkey Mr. Fuat Oktay expressed
his gratitude to the people and the Government of Mongolia for
their immediate help during the difficult time of the disaster, mentioning that
Mongolia was one of the first countries that provided humanitarian aid.
During the meeting, while expressing satisfaction with the
expansion of the relations and cooperation between the countries in all
sectors, the sides agreed to advance the relations between our two countries
from the current comprehensive partnership to the ‘strategic partnership’,
continue the mutual high-level visits and jointly implement development
projects in line with the medium and long term development policies of the
countries.
In particular, Vice President Mr. Fuat Oktay highlighted the
special attention that the Turkish side has been attaching to the trade and
investment ties between the countries, and reaffirmed the intention to support
the relations in sectors, such as infrastructure, energy, tourism, history, and
culture at the state policy level.
