Camel herders attempting to set new Guinness record
Art & CultureUIaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Mongolian Camel–999” race of a thousand camels will take place this March 6-7 in Dalanzadgad of Omnogovi (South Gobi) aimag. The organizers aim to attract global attention to these unique species--the Bactrian camels, and to set a Guinness World Record.
Thanks to the invincible efforts of Gobi people to preserve and raise the camel herds, many events such as the Camel Polo and the Great Gobi’s Camel Festival have been regularized. This time, the race is attracting camel herders from 15 soums of Omnogovi and from other localities.
