October 24 in Perm, Russia.
Mongolian ballet dancer R.Bulgan starred in the opening
ballet Anyuta by Valery Gavrilin, with Russian ballet dancer, choreographer,
People’s
Artist of the USSR and Russian Federation Vladimir Vasiliev dancing as Anyuta’s
father Pyotr Leontievich,
becoming the first Asian ballerina to portray Anyuta.
R.Bulgan, the first Mongolian dancer to be nominated for the Golden Mask Award of Russia, won the silver medal at the 15th Open Russian Ballet Competition ‘Arabesque’ held in Perm in May 2018. Born in Germany, she was brought to Mongolia at three months old and started ballet at a young age. The ballerina who is now a soloist at Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre graduated from Vaganova Ballet Academy and Perm State Choreographic College.
