Coal Export Exceeds 2023 Plan

Ulaanbaatar, August 16, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Coal exporters of Mongolia transported 11,313 trucks, 797 containers, and 957 AGVs (automated
guided vehicle) of coal on August 4-10.
In the above-mentioned period, 1,457.4 thousand tons of coal were
exported,
making an increase of 76.5 percent
compared to the same period last year.
According to the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry, the export of 37,476.3 thousand tons of coal from the
beginning of this year amounts to twice as much as the performance of the
same period of the previous year and already has exceeded the plan for 2023.
As
for
copper concentrate, 296 trucks and 153
containers were exported during
the period. A total of 931.5
thousand tons of copper concentrate has been exported since the beginning of this year.
Regarding
iron ore and concentrate, 20 trucks and 1,480 containers were transported. Since the
beginning of 2023, a total of 3,284.2 thousand tons of iron ore has been exported, an increase of 39 percent from the same period of
2022.
Since
the beginning of 2023, as of
the 10th of August, the
Central Bank has purchased 9.53 tons of gold.
