Speakers of Mongolian and Hungarian Parliaments Hold Official Talks

Ulaanbaatar, March 7, 2024. /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav is paying an Official Visit to Hungary at the invitation of Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér.
The Speaker's Visit began with a wreath-laying at the Horoes’ Memorial in
Heroes’ Square in Budapest. After a welcoming ceremony, the Parliament Speakers.
Zandanshatar and László Kövér held official talks.
Speaker of the National Assembly of
Hungary Köver Laszlo said “ My visit to Mongolia last year at the invitation of
the Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar was significant
to bringing the relations of the two countries to a new level. Since then, wars
have been raging in countries around the world, and the situation has become
not easy. Therefore, our two countries, which have long-standing relations,
should further strengthen our relations and seek opportunities for harmonious coexistence
and mutually beneficial cooperation. As a manifestation of this, I appreciate
that a cooperation agreement is to be signed between the Bayankhongor aimag of
Mongolia and the Veszprém county of Hungary during the Visit.
Speaker Köver Laszlo emphasized the importance of interparliamentary cooperation for the development of relations between the two countries in all fields.
Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar for his part, presented the current political and social economy of Mongolia, expressing confidence that mutual visits of the heads of legislative bodies of the two countries will provide an important impetus to maintaining mutual understanding and high-level dialogue between Mongolia and Hungary. Mr. Zandanshatar also said that Mongolia considers Hungary a vital partner in Eastern Europe and one of the priority goals of the foreign policy of Mongolia is to expand and enrich relations and cooperation with Hungary in all areas.
In addition, Speaker Zandanshatar noted that close cooperation between the Secretariats of the Parliaments and the parliamentary friendship groups is important for strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. “ I am glad that it was agreed to establish a memorandum of understanding on revitalizing the cooperation between the Offices of Parliaments that are responsible for the day-to-day activities of the legislative body. Based on this memorandum, it is believed that it is possible to organize an exchange program for the staff of the Offices, as well as to conduct joint research.”
