Chairman Zandanshatar Receives Hungarian Delegation

Ulaanbaatar, April 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav received Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Sándor Lezsák and Deputy Chair of the Hungary-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group Árpád Potápi, along with other officials on April 25, 2024.


At the beginning of the meeting, Speaker Zandanshatar expressed gratitude to the honored guests for participating in the “Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue” International Conference, wishing them a pleasant stay in Mongolia.


Hungary is an important partner of Mongolia in Eastern Europe and has maintained active and continuous relations and cooperation even during challenging times. Speaker Zandanshatar highlighted the frequent high-level reciprocal visits between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the deepening relations between the two countries. The Chairman fondly recalled his official visit to Hungary last March, where many important issues were discussedmutual understanding was reached, and documents of cooperation were signedThis visit was remarkable as it was the first visit at the level of the Speaker of Parliament of Mongolia in 17 years, aimed at expanding bilateral relations and cooperation in all areas.




Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Sándor Lezsák conveyed his gratitude to Speaker G. Zandanshatar for the invitation to participate in the second “Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue” conference and mentioned that it was his first visit to Mongolia. He conveyed the greetings of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér and emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Strengthening Democracy.


In recent times of global geopolitical challenges, the importance of consolidating peace and intensifying international and regional cooperation to overcome any difficulties through joint efforts was noted. The two parties concurred on the significance of the relations between the two Parliaments and the parliamentary groups in intensifying the cooperation between the two countries. They exchanged opinions on the elections of the State Great Khural of Mongolia in June 2024 and the election of the European Union.


Mongolia and Hungary established diplomatic relations on April 28, 1950, and have friendly relations and cooperation.
