Mongolian Judokas Win Five Medals at Dushanbe Grand Slam

Ulaanbaatar, May 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolian judokas won five medals at the fifth round of the 2025 Judo Grand Slam series, organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF), held in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan, on May 2-5, 2025.  

 

Specifically, 17 Mongolian judokas participated in the Grand Slam under the guidance of Mongolian National Team Coaches M. Bundmaa and Ch. Boldbaatar. They won two gold medals, one silver medal, and two bronze medals, finishing fourth in the team’s ranking. In the women’s 48 kg category, J. Anudari, and in the 63 kg category, B. Gankhaich, won the gold medals, respectively. In the men’s 73 kg category, B. Erdenebayar secured the silver medal. In the 60 kg category, E. Ariunbold, and the +78 kg weight category, D. Nominzul earned bronze medals.


It was J. Anudari’s first “Grand Slam” medal and the sixth medal for B. Gankhaich, who won a Grand Slam for the first time. Previously, she earned a bronze medal at the Paris Grand Slam in February 2024. She later secured a silver medal at the Asian Judo Championships, but due to an injury, she had been unable to compete. After a one-year and one-month absence, she returned to the international arena and claimed another medal at a Grand Slam.

 

Moreover, B. Erdenebayar, International Master of Sports, has now collected a complete set of Grand Slam medals. On the final day of the Grand Slam, D. Nominzul earned another bronze medal, marking the second of her Grand Slam career. Previously, she had won a bronze medal at the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam.

 

The next Grand Slam will be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
