“Top-6” Tournament Named After Honored Athlete G. Boldbaatar to Be Held in Erdenet City

2025 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian Judo Association will organize the fourth
series of the “Top-6” Tournament in the adult category in Erdenet City, Mongolia.
The tournament, to be held in a rural area for the first time, is
special as it is named after the gold and bronze medalist of the World
Championships and Honored Athlete Boldbaatar Ganbat. The competition, aimed at
developing judo in rural areas and motivating youth to learn judo, will feature
the top six male and female judokas in seven categories each.
According to the announcements made by the Mongolian Judo
Association, a total of 84 judokas will compete in 14 weight classes, including
Honored Athlete Yo. Baskhuu, International Masters B. Erkhembayar, O. Uranbayar,
and B. Gonchigsuren, bronze medalist of the 2024 World Championships L. Ankhzaya,
bronze medalist of the 2025 World Championships B. Gankhaich, and Olympic
bronze medalist and two-time bronze medalist of the World Championships G. Otgontsetseg.
Honored Athlete Boldbaatar Ganbat won the 2014 World Championships, ranked fifth in 2013 and 2015, and won the bronze medal in the 2017 World Championships. Moreover, his achievements include a gold medal from the 2009 Asian Judo Championships, a silver medal from the 2014 Asian Games, 20 medals in the “Grand Slam,” “Masters,” and “Grand Prix” categories, as well as 8 medals from World Cups and Continental Open Tournaments.
