Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Eastern Region Red Cross Society camp gathering opened under “Climate Change” on July 24. This year’s gathering is significant for creating leadership among youngsters to adapt to climate change.

Over hundred children have gathered from Mongolia, Japan, Republic of Korea, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macao. The opening ceremony was attended by MP N.Enkhbold, the President of Mongolian Red Cross Society, Gwendolyn Pang, the representative of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and representatives of Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport, as well as the Embassy of Republic of Korea to Mongolia.

The four-day event is being held at the newly established “Child and Youth Development Center” camp of Mongolian Red Cross Society.

Mr. N.Enkhbold, the President of Mongolian Red Cross Society, said “Young members of the world’s biggest family have gathered here to exchange views on climate change. I personally deliver my invitations to these hundred young Red Cross volunteers, the first guests of our camp, to revisit again after 10 years”.

Park Chang, member of Republic of Korea National Red Cross, said “This is my first time in Mongolia. I really like the country. I felt freedom here in Mongolia. Eastern Region Red Cross Society camp gathering feels very well organized. I have realized the significance of young Red Cross members’ involvement in the climate change. Which is why, I will call out my friends and fight against climate change when I go back to Korea. For instance, the selfish decisions and actions of our country is affecting the earth and caused many negative changes because of it".
