Flyover construction at Traffic Police intersection to begin shortly

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The construction work of a flyover on the Traffic Police intersection will begin in April to continue for 1.6 years.
During a meeting of the Mayor’s Council on March 26, Deputy Mayor in charge of Infrastructure and Ger Area Development P.Bayarkhuu reported on the capital city administration’s road construction projects in 2018.
The Deputy Mayor also briefed the Council on how traffic restrictions will be arranged during the construction work.
Furthermore, the capital city administration plans to construct flyovers on 20 locations including the National University of Education, the Wrestling Palace, Bayanburd and Sapporo intersection. “If this plan is approved by the Council, the designing can commence,” he said.
According to statistics, about 40 thousand vehicles are imported to Mongolia annually, 80 percent of which participate in the traffic in Ulaanbaatar.
