Consumer price index increases

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In March 2018, consumer price index at the national level increased by 0.9 percent from the previous month, by 3.2 percent from end of the previous year and by 6.6 percent from the same period of the previous year, reports the National Statistics Office.
 
In March 2018, consumer price index increased by 6.6 percent from the same period of the previous year, which was mainly contributed by increases in the following group of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 5.9 percent (potato and vegetables by 17.2 percent, non-alcoholic beverages by 5.3 percent and milk, dairy products and eggs by 8.9 percent), alcoholic beverages, tobacco by 7.5 percent, transport by 9.1 percent (purchase of vehicles by 14.4 percent), housing, water, electricity and fuels by 13.3 percent (electricity, gas and other fuels by 23.4 percent), and health by 10.3 percent.
 
CPI was increased by 3.2 percent from the end of the last year was mainly due to an increase of prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages group by 7.4 percent (meat and meat products by 18.2 percent and milk, dairy products and eggs by 11.5 percent) and alcoholic beverages, tobacco group by 5.1 percent.
