Veterinary health center opens in Umnugobi aimag

Veterinary health center has been inaugurated in Khanbogd soum, Umnugobi province /aimag/ with funding of  MNT 1.4 billion by ‘Gobi Oyu Development Fund which is invested by ‘Turquoise Hill’ LLC.  

The veterinary health center gives opportunities to make livestock healthy and to prevent livestock from infectious diseases. Moreover, it will become available to export animal raw materials to mining companies and foreign markets.

Additionally, built in compliance with international standards, new laboratory with the latest diagnostic equipment has the capacity to examine animal diseases and quality of animal raw materials and products.

The veterinary health center will provide service to 772 thousand head of livestock in the eastern part of the province, ensuring food safety for 20 thousand people. Thanks to the new center income of  1800 herding households expected to be increased bringing significant positive changes in economy of eastern soums of Umnugobi province.
