G.Zandanshatar elected as Speaker of Mongolian Parliament

/MONTSAME/ Today’s plenary meeting of the Parliament discussed an issue of
electing a new Speaker of the Great State Khural (Parliament), as MP M.Enkhbold was removed from the post on January 29. According
to a statement in the Law on Parliament that majority group in the parliament
shall propose a candidate for the Speaker of Parliament, Mongolian
People’s Party group nominated MP G.Zandanshatar.
The meeting
was attended by 63 MPs, of whom 60 (95.2 percent) voted for him. Thus G.
Zandanshatar was elected the Speaker of the Parliament. In this regard, he
was discharged from the position of Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of the
Government.
In the end,
deputy Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan presented a Seal of the Parliament of Mongolia to
G.Zandanshatar.
