Deputy Minister of Health receives Ambassador of New Zealand
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On May 28, Deputy Minister of Health L.Byambasuren received Non-resident Ambassador of New Zealand to Mongolia Clare Fearnley. At the start of the meeting, Deputy Minister L.Byambasuren noted the partnership in the health sector between the two countries has developed to a certain degree, and highlighted that the working visit done by delegates led by the Minister of Health in 2017, during which they learned about the experience of the legal framework for medicine regulation, financing and medicine purchase management, marked the start of partnership in the sector.
She informed the Ambassador of the government policy to train personnel that can compete on the global level and specifically, two medical specialists of fetal surgery and genetic diagnosis that will be going to New Zealand in the frameworks of it.
Ambassador Mrs. Clare Fearnley introduced further measures to be taken as well as suggestions and opportunities for the development of cooperation in the health sector of the two countries.
Introducing the project on teaching English to children with disabilities that has been implemented in partnership with the Mongolian Epilepsy Society, the Ambassador informed the Deputy Minister about the possibility to involve workers in the health sector in the English language programme, which is implemented in the frameworks of the Official Development Assistance of New Zealand.
