President issues decree on prevention of COVID-19 spread

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga
today issued a decree, providing the Government with instructions on preventing
of COVID-19 spread in the country.
The decree reads, “Considering the increased outbreak of
COVID-19 in many countries of the world and our neighbor- China, the Government
is instructed with this decree to take the following measures in prevention of possible
dangers, not celebrating the Tsagaan Sar National Holiday.
1.1 As stated in 10.1st of the Law on Disaster Protection, to define and enforce readiness levels of disaster protection step-by-step in connection with the conditions of COVID-19 spread;
1.2 The Cabinet meeting shall urgently regulate an issue on
establishing quarantine regime with aims of preventing from internationally quarantinable
and other infectious diseases, and not to spread and take responsive measures
to curb the spread in case of occurrence;
1.3. To immediately close exhibition-fairs and trades that
gather public, and TV advertisements and commercials for the Tsagaan Sar
Holiday, and co-organize with the media a public awareness activity on duties
and responsibilities of individuals for prevention of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and risks of
this deadly disease.
1.4. Concerning high prevalence of human-to-human
transmissions and zoonotic diseases worldwide, the Cabinet shall formulate
bills to improve Disaster Protection and Health laws and others and submit to
the Parliament for urgent consideration during its spring session or convening irregularly
if necessary.
2. All the people shall be called for being aware of their responsibilities
in the prevention of COVID-19 infections and respect the public interest.
