Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak, Mongolia has been urging people returning from countries affected by the coronavirus to self-isolate themselves or holding suspected cases in mandatory isolation.

President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga, who paid a visit to the People’s Republic of China on February 27, was placed under 14-day voluntary isolation along with delegates, who accompanied him during the China visit, as a precaution against the coronavirus.

During today’s daily briefing of the Ministry of Health on the coronavirus situations, D.Nyamkhuu, Director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases informed that the President is still under medical observation at the Second Central Hospital in Ulaanbaatar and is soon to be released from the isolation.

“Shortly after their arrival, the entire delegation to China was tested negative for coronavirus. Today, President Battulga will undergo repeated test for coronavirus” says Nyamkhuu.

The President’s one-day visit to China was to present the donation of 30 thousand sheep to China to help Mongolia's southern neighbor to fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak. President Battulga held meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang during the visit.
