Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. MPs S.Byambatsogt, M.Oyunchimeg and N.Uchral presented the revised bill on Development Policy, Planning, and Administration to Speaker G.Zandanshatar on April 8. The bill was developed in order to align the law with the adoption of the amendments to the Constitution of Mongolia adopted on November 14, 2019.

The revision is aimed to provide the development policy and planning of Mongolia with sustainability and correlation, to define the framework in which the policy and planning should be developed on the national level, and to effectively develop, plan, and implement the development policy. With the approval of the bill, a new system will be created that provides correlation between the long-, mid-, and short-term development policies and planning documents of Mongolia. Furthermore, it will also align the development policy and planning measures with the new constitutional amendments, and put development policy and planning documents into a system, creating the condition to sustainably implement them for a long period of time.

The MPs consider that the revision will enhance the requirements and regulations in developing long-, mid-, and short-term development policy and planning documents of Mongolia, and create a suitable condition for a policy document based on sufficient study and research to be approved. Moreover, the roles and responsibilities of the sides involved in development policy and planning is specified, which will result in those involved becoming liable.
