Deputy Foreign Minister holds virtual meeting with Uzbekistani counterpart

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Munkhjin on October 30 had a virtual meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Sidikov Furkat Ahmedovich.


The sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in political, economic, tourism, agricultural, transport, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, developing a strategy for cooperation in tourism, and supporting exchange programs between scientific and educational organizations of the two countries.


In connection with Uzbekistan’s proposal to increase trade and establish a free trade agreement with Mongolia as part of its goal to deepen its economic cooperation with regional countries, the sides agreed to determine the feasibility and continue with discussions on how to increase trade and improve transportation conditions.


The Deputy Foreign Ministers also agreed to hold the next consultative meeting of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries in Ulaanbaatar in 2021 and accelerate the preparation of documents to be signed between the two countries for the establishment of legal framework for bilateral relations.
