MP B.Saranchimeg attends the 31st session of the IPU Women Parliamentarians’ Forum

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On May 12, the 31st session of the
IPU Women Parliamentarians’ Forum was attended by Mrs. B.Saranchimeg, a member
of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia.
Mrs. B.Saranchimeg MP, representing the State Great Hural,
has attended the 31st session of the IPU Women Parliamentarians’ Forum which
was organized within the framework of the accompanying sessions of the 142nd
Assembly of the IPU that is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Mrs.
B.Saranchimeg MP is serving a member of the Bureau of the IPU’s Democracy and
Human Rights Standing Committee since the year of 2018.
The “Generation Equality in and through parliaments” was the
main topic of the 31st session and has generated interactive debate among not
only women but also male parliamentarians from over 50 countries in where they
have exchanged their opinions.
The event was a contribution to an effort that the UN Women, in partnership with the governments of France and Mexico and civil society groups, deciding to launch the Generation Equality Forum, a unique platform centered on intergenerational dialogue and multi-stakeholder collaboration to achieve gender equality.
The session also has given opportunity to the participating
IPU member countries parliamentarians to share their experiences and best
practices in considering legislations guarantee women’s rights and gender
equality, especially as regards gender-based violence, economic justice and
ensuring young women leaders at all levels of decision-making and across all
areas, including economy, climate action and technology.
