MoU signed between Secretariat of Parliament and The Asia Foundation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Secretary General of the State Great Hural L.Ulziisaikhan received the Asia Foundation’s Country Representative in Ulaanbaatar Mark Koenig on June 4 and signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Secretariat of the Parliament of Mongolia and The Asia Foundation on the 2021 Cooperation Plan.
At the outset of the meeting, Secretary General L.Ulziisaikhan emphasized that The Asia Foundation has made a valuable contribution to the development of parliamentary democracy in Mongolia and expressed confidence that the cooperation based on mutual trust and friendly relations will continue in the long run.
Noting that she is pleased to work with The Asia Foundation throughout the next three years, Secretary General L.Ulziisaikhan highlighted that the new window of opportunity for cooperation is being opened up with the help of the MoU.
Country Representative
Mark Koenig said that The Asia Foundation has provided technical and financial
support to strengthen Mongolia's democratic achievements, ensure citizen
participation in the legislative process, and strengthen the capacity of the
Secretariat, which is a reliable backbone of parliament.
Moreover, he expressed his confidence that the document will play a significant role in further enriching and strengthening the traditional cooperation between the Secretariat and The Asia Foundation.
The signing of the MoU
will help strengthen parliamentary democracy, ensure transparency, increase
public participation, and provide parliamentary education to citizens and support
the activities of the Parliamentary Research Institute.
