Snowfall and colder weather on the way

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Agency for Meteorology and Environment has issued a warning for blizzards and colder temperatures in some parts of western and eastern aimags, in most parts of central aimags, and northern parts of the Gobi region in the coming few days.

 

Snowfall is expected in western parts of western aimags, eastern parts of Gobi aimags, and southern parts of eastern aimags on December 16, and northern parts of western and central aimags on December 17. 

 

Wind speed will reach 13-15 m/sec at times in the Gobi and plains on December 16, 17, and 18.

 

With colder temperatures expected in most parts of the country, in the mountainous areas of Altai, in the depression of Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan River, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basins of Ider and Tes rivers, the temperature will range from -32 to -37 degrees Celsius during the night, and -22 to -27 during the day.

 

In the mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, and in the basins of Eg, Uur, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, Ulz, and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will range between -27 and -32 degrees Celsius during the night, and -16 to -21 during the day.

 

In the southern Gobi region, the night-time temperature will be -15 to -20 degrees Celsius, and the daytime temperature will be -6 to -11 degrees Celsius.

 

In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -21 to -26 during the night, and -11 to -16 during the day. The cold temperatures are expected to ease from December 19.
