Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 110th
anniversary of the establishment of the modern diplomatic service in Mongolia, Deputy
Secretary-General of the United Nations Ms. Amina Mohammed has sent a
congratulatory message on December 29.
The message reads, “I am pleased to send my warm greetings
on the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the modern
diplomatic service in Mongolia.
More than half of Mongolia’s modern diplomatic era is marked
by its UN membership. As we also mark the 60th anniversary of
Mongolia’s United Nations membership this year, Mongolia has become an
ever-stronger supporter of multilateralism and diplomacy, and has played an
increasingly important role in promoting peace, security and development in the
region and the world at large.”
In her greetings, Ms. Amina Mohammed expressed her grateful
for Mongolia’s contribution to the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, and
particularly encouraged by the government’s commitment to promote the role of
female peacekeepers and as a strong advocate for the Women, Peace and Security
agenda.
Emphasizing that in the time of the MDGs, Mongolia was the
first country to add the 9th MDG on Human Rights and Governance, a
precursor to SDGs 16, Ms. Amina Mohammed congratulates Mongolia’s inspiring
strides to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
“The United Nations is fully committed to working with you
to achieve a sustainable and resilient future for all,” noted the greetings.
