Mongolian and French Surgeons Collaborate on Pediatric Heart Surgeries

A team of five pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons from the University Hospital of Strasbourg in France, led by Consultant Cardiac Surgeon Professor Philippe Billaut, is collaborating with doctors at the Third State Central Hospital of Mongolia to provide surgical services from August 25-31, 2024.
The joint medical team conducted examinations and consultations for four adults with complex cardiac conditions and 20 children. During the stay of French surgeons in Mongolia, the joint medical team plans to perform surgeries on nine cases of severe heart conditions that are currently untreatable in Mongolia.
This medical assistance is being provided under the MON007 Project, funded by a grant aid from the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, according to Mongolia’s Ministry of Health.
