Khentii people striving to set Guinness record with felt tapestry

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Inhabitants of Omnodelger soum of Khentii aimag are creating a 1.8- meter wide and 100-meter long tapestry out of felt, having set a goal to challenge it to the Guinness World Records in order to publicize Mongolian traditional quilting and stitching methods.

The tapestry, dedicated to cover the walls of a large size ger (national dwelling), will be embedded with images of lifestyles of generations of Mongolians, traditions, fine arts, national design patterns, depicting historic monuments such as deer stones, rock paintings and kurgan stelaes.
