Day of ASEM being marked
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of organizing the 11th ASEM Summit and celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Asia-Europe Meeting, the first of March has been announced as the Day of ASEM and is being celebrated nationwide. The decision was officially approved by the cabinet at its regular meeting on February 29.
The initiative on marking the ASEM Day on March 1 was unanimously backed by the member countries at the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which took place in Luxembourg last November.
The first ASEM Summit was held in 1996.
