"Shoe-throwing" incident occurs at MEF
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the closure of Mongolian Economic Forum on March 31, an economist L.Naranbaatar threw a sock at the Speaker of parliament Z.Enkhbold while he was giving the closing speech.
Naranbaatar was shouting,“You are an economic hitman! Resign for your having killed our economy! This is your fault that the country is getting poorer and is sinking in debt!”
While security persons were dragging him out of the auditorium, the Speaker said,“Do such ill people take part in this forum? You know, this is the sign the election (parliamentary-Ed.) is approaching. We have many of such people nowadays”, and continued his speech.
The economist L.Naranbaatar said in his Tweet this morning that he is "under investigation for the 'sock case", whereas the spokesperson of the General Police Department B.Baatarkhuu claimed that there was no investigations in connection with him and that L.Naranbaatar might be questioned by the State Special Security.
