Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An experts team of the Ministry of economy, trade and industry of Japan have completed their work in Mongolia. Their working trip to Mongolia started in October 2016 with aim to study ways of increasing the volume of trade turnover in framework of a Mongolia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement which was signed during  a visit of the Prime Minister of Mongolia to Japan in February, 2015.

In the 2 month period of their mission in Mongolia, the Japanese experts have identified priority areas of cooperation which will help increasing a number of export goods from Mongolia to Japan, and discussed the possibilities of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the industrial and technological spheres.

Pursuant to EPA entered into force on June 7, 2016,  around 5 700 varieties of Mongolian goods and around 9 300 varieties of Japanese goods were directly and gradually exempted from import customs duties, which formed a favorable environment for entrepreneurs of both countries to supply products with certificates of origin under preferential tariff terms.
