"Zuunbayan- Khangi" railroad to be constructed
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its meeting on Wednesday, cabinet backed a draft resolution on a project for construction of 281 km railroad linking the Zuunbayan station and the Khangi border checkpoint and resolved to submit it to the Parliament.
The railroad in this rout is designed to transport iron ore and other raw materials. According to estimations, some 10-21 million tons of cargo will be transported by the new railway for the period from 2018 till 2025, and 21 million tons of cargo—for the period from 2026 to 2046. It means that the minimum size of freight will be 15 million tons.
